The SFPUC, a department of the City and County of San Francisco, is pleased to issue this grant solicitation and anticipates selecting up to three (3) Proposers, each with an initial term of up to 1.5 years (18 months), and with a combined not-to-exceed grant value of $300,000 (inclusive of all reimbursable costs) to qualified non-profit community based organizations (CBO) to manage the Sidewalk Garden Project. Program management includes the following activities:
• Engaging and educating property owners about the stormwater benefits of sidewalk gardens
• Responding to all project inquiries received, including those directed from the SFPUC.
• Tracking and communicating regularly with all program applicants
• Pre-site analysis and inspection
• Securing necessary permits
• Community engagement and education
• Sidewalk garden design and preparation (including removal of concrete and soil prep)
• Provisions of plants, soil, mulch and other necessary materials
• Removal of approximately 11,000 square feet of impervious concrete and overseeing the planting of approximately 10-11 blocks of sidewalk gardens
• Providing follow-up maintenance reminders to property owners for completed sidewalk gardens.

08/27/15: The SFPUC has completed its evaluations for this grant solicitation. The SFPUC plans to award grants to: Climate Action Now! and Friends of the Urban Forest. The SFPUC will be in contact with these firms shortly.
