The Pacifica Recycled Water Project was developed and constructed through a partnership between the SFPUC and the North Coast County Water District (NCCWD). Recycled water deliveries from the NCCWD began in 2014 for irrigation of the eastside of the Sharp Park Golf Course in Pacifica, and other nearby areas. The use of recycled water for this project will help reduce dependency on the Hetch Hetchy Regional Water System for local irrigation needs, provide a drought-resistant water source, and decrease wastewater discharges to the Pacific Ocean.
For this project, a new pump station at the Calera Creek Water Recycling Plant, approximately 17,000 feet of distribution pipelines, and a 400,000 gallon above-ground recycled water storage tank were constructed. In addition, retrofits of the irrigation system on the eastside of the Sharp Park Golf Course were completed. Sharp Park is a retail customer of the SFPUC and is managed by the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department.
