San Francisco Green Business Program
The San Francisco Green Business Program is a voluntary partnership of business leaders, various City agencies, and non-profit organizations which includes the San Francisco Department of Public Health, San Francisco Department of the Environment and the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission to promote, recognize, and provide hands-on support to local businesses that operate in an environmentally responsible way. Free pollution prevention and resource conservation assistance is provided to participating San Francisco businesses.
The City and County of San Francisco launched its Green Business Program in early 2004. Since the program’s inception, San Francisco has certified 98 businesses and is currently working with businesses in the hotel, restaurant and office sectors.
