A Notice of Preparation of a Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for the Proposed Westside Recycled Water Project will be issued in late May 2008. The San Francisco Planning Department will hold two public scoping meetings in June 2008 to receive oral and written comments that will assist the Planning Department in reviewing the scope and focus of the Proposed Westside Recycled Water Project’s environmental impact analysis, and information to be contained in the EIR. The public will have the opportunity to provide their input, and offer testimony for consideration.
The Planning Department has determined that an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) will be prepared for the Proposed Westside Recycled Water Project prior to any final decision by the SFPUC regarding whether to approve the project. The purpose of the EIR is to provide information about any potentially significant adverse environmental effects of the proposed project, to identify reasonable and feasible methods to minimize any potentially significant adverse effects, and to describe and analyze feasible alternatives to the proposed project.
