Since November 1, 2005, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission's (SFPUC) 2.4 million customers -- except for those in Half Moon Bay -- receive drinking water with fluoride.  In November 2005, the SFPUC fluoridated the remaining 20% of its customer service area. The SFPUC has supplied fluoridated water to San Francisco residents and the majority of its wholesale customers since the early 1950's.
