Solar Monitoring
The SFPUC has installed monitoring stations throughout the City of San Francisco and in outlying areas where the City may develop renewable energy projects. The stations measure solar resources and provide a better understanding of the impact San Francisco’s microclimates have on energy generated by renewable projects. So far, data collected has shown that the annual solar resource does not vary more than 20% between areas that receive the most and the least sunlight.
