San Francisco residents are fortunate to enjoy a reliable and high quality water supply from the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The SFPUC, the third largest municipal utility in California, serves 2.4 million residential, commercial, and industrial customers in the Bay Area. Approximately one-third of water delivered goes to retail customers in San Francisco, while the other two-thirds of the water is delivered to 28 wholesale suburban agencies found in Alameda, Santa Clara and San Mateo counties.
This water plays a critical role in our environmental, social and economic well being. San Francisco has one of the purest water sources in the nation, yet the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) faces a crucial question: Will there be enough water to satisfy future demand?
The Water Conservation Section of the SFPUC was created to help San Francisco residents and businesses to save water. We work with residents, businesses and communities to recognize the importance of using water wisely and offer a variety of water saving programs and incentives.
We all share a responsibility to conserve water and use our water as efficiently as possible. We're here to help you. Do your part in conserving water. Visit the links below to learn more about the programs, services and rebate incentives that we offer.
