The Alameda watershed is one of three major contributors to the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) water delivery system serving 2.4 million Bay Area customers. As such, the primary watershed goal of the SFPUC is to maintain and improve source water quality to protect public health and safety. Secondary goals include the maximization of water supply and the preservation and enhancement of ecological resources.
