In order to ensure that activities on its Right-of-Way (ROW) Lands conform to the primary mission of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) to supply water to 2.4 million people in the Bay Area, all projects and activities occurring on these ROW Lands and easements must be reviewed through the ROW Project Review process:
- Proposals for new facilities, structures, roads, trails, projects and leases, or improvements to existing facilities shall be reviewed by appropriate SFPUC personnel to ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, as well as SFPUC rules, regulations and operating needs
The purpose of this form is to provide a clear and complete description of your project to the ROW Project Review Committee, which consists of staff from the SFPUC’s Real Estate Services (RES), Natural Resources Division (NRD), Water Supply and Treatment Division (WS&T) and other SFPUC staff in order to carry out the policies and needs of the SFPUC. In reviewing the proposed project, the ROW Project Review Committee may indicate that modifications or mitigation are necessary so that the project is in keeping with the SFPUC’s primary operational needs and to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
A complete project description will facilitate a more expeditious review by providing the ROW Project Review Committee with the necessary information to shepherd the project through the regulatory and planning process.
