The purpose of the recreation focus group meeting, held on April 4, 2007, was to explore the current and potential recreation uses at Lake Merced and to identify a range of recreation use options. The SFPUC invited approximately 40 individuals and groups representing the recreational activities found at the lake currently or in the recent past. Participants were asked to describe how they use the lake at present and to identify issues and opportunities related to their particular recreational activity. The following is a summary of their comments.
