MINUTES
Tuesday, March 6, 2006

- Meeting began at 5:45 pm
- Minutes of meeting of 02-06-2007 adopted unanimously without revision.
- There was no public comment.
- A presentation on the Hetch Hetchy hydropower system was provided by Camron Samii from the SFPUC’s Moccasin powerhouse. (A copy of the presentation has been provided electronically by Mr. Samii.) Members of the committee questioned Mr. Samii about his presentation in order to obtain more details about the hydropower system.
- Members also proposed the following suggestions for future agenda:
- Meeting mechanics: Start at 5:30; provide minutes prior to the meeting; clarify the meeting agenda-setting process.
- A member wanted to know how to use the SF Solar Task Force to influence the SFPUC’s solar policy and to have Barbara Hale inform the subcommittee about a rumored PG&E ballot measure to limit the SFPUC’s ability to provide power to private customers
- Another member would like to have the subcommittee consider a motion calling on the City to adopt LEED silver standards for all new construction or major renovations in the City.
- Another member voiced a desire to get more information about what the SFPUC is doing to develop wind power; would it be possible to develop wind power with the Hetch Hetchy projects; what is being done to explore the City’s potential for energy conservation?
- 6: Public Comment: What is the City going to do to increase energy efficiency and energy conservation?
