  5. Discussion and Presentation on the SFPUC’s Fats, Oil and Grease (FOG) Biofuel Program
    (20 minutes) - Lewis Harrison

    * During the fiscal year 2005-2006 the SFPUC’s Water Pollution Prevention Program developed a new program as a subset of the FOG Program called the FOG Biofuel Program.  The objective of this proposal is to provide businesses and residents an alternative FOG disposal option and to make beneficial reuse of this waste stream by diverting FOG to Biofuel programs. The waste cooking oil will not only be used to produce biodiesel for our fleet, but also to produce electricity at our wastewater plants.

  6. Discussion and presentation on Storm Water Design Guidelines for separate sewer systems
(10 minutes)– Susan Glendening and Rosey Jencks

    * The Port of San Francisco and the SFPUC are teaming to develop a regulatory guidance document for the minimization of pollutants in urban runoff associated with new development and redevelopment.  This regulatory policy will be applicable in areas where storm water drains directly into a water body rather than into the combined sewer system---- at this time mostly Bay waterfront parcels.  The guidelines will promote Low Impact Design and other “green” design principles to allow storm water drainage to filter into the ground and other pervious surfaces.
