The CAC Water Subcommittee meeting will be held in the Conference Room on the 4th Floor of the SFPUC Offices located at 1155 Market Street. (between 7th & 8th Streets) The Conference Room is wheelchair accessible. The nearest accessible BART station is the Civic Center Station at United Nations Plaza and Market Street. 1. Call to order
2. Approval of minutes of June 25, 2008 meeting. (See attached minutes)
3. Public comment-matters within Subcommittee’s scope, not on today’s agenda.
4. Staff Presentation: Westside Recycled Water Project Update: Paula Kehoe & Barbara Palacios, Water Enterprise
a. Issue: The Water Committee has decided to review San Francisco’s Recycled Water Program; specific concerns are the need for the program, its costs, and potential alternative supplies. Staff is still researching these questions, but will begin be reviewing the current program with the committee
b. Desired Result: staff will provide a background on the recycled water program to answer basic questions and provide a frame for ongoing discussions of the committee’s concerns.

5. Resolution concerning use and disposition of SFPUC surplus properties in San Francisco.
a. Issue: At our June meeting we received a presentation on the status of some of the PUC’s surplus properties. We also heard from several members of the public with their concerns about potential changes in the use or ownership of these properties. At that meeting, the committee agreed to consider a resolution at their July meeting supporting the concerns expressed by the public commenters.
b. Action: Request adoption of attached resolution
6. Resolution concerning SFPUC use of chloramines
a. Issue: At our June committee meeting, presentations were given by both the SFPUC’s Water Quality Bureau and by the community group Citizens Concerned about Chloramines on the water system’s use of chloramines as a residual disinfectant. At the meeting, committee members agreed to consider a resolution asking the SFPUC to support additional studies of the health effects of chloramines.
