Report from the Chair:  Among the goals for the CAC for calendar year 2006, Chair Lantsberg expressed the following:

  • Increase awareness among the general public of the existence of the SFPUC and what it does.
  • Zero in on “key items” shape policy and get information about policy items out to the public.
  • Have efficient meetings, have each subcommittee be prepared to give summaries of their work and make recommendations to the full CAC each month
  • Carefully monitor the development of the Sustainability Plan, reaffirm the existence of the Environmental Justice Subcommittee, David Pascal appointed Chair.  Other members are Clary, Hansen and Lantsberg.  First meeting to take place Wed. April 5, 2006 from 5:30-7:30 at 1155 Market, 4th Floor Conference Room.
  • Help improve general communications done by the SFPUC, to make the agency more “friendly”.
  • Subcommittees each have priorities for the coming year.

For reporting on the WSIP, regular reports will be handled at the Water Subcommittee, with quarterly updates at a full CAC meeting.

Steve Lawrence reported on his meeting with DGM Irons on the Quarterly Report on the WSIP

Subcommittee reports:

Water

  • Recycled water resolution was merged with a resolution from the Wastewater Subcommittee, the full CAC needs an update on progress on the implementation of Recycled Water projects in San Francisco.

Power

  • The subcommittee visited the solar installation at the Post Office.  Updates requested on Energy Commission permits for the Electric Reliability Project.

Wastewater

  • Public meetings on the wastewater master plan were announced, a resolution relative to “green cities” projects and the impact on our wastewater treatment infrastructure was passed, see attached.

At our next meeting we will look at the Brisbane/Baylands Project and its potential impact on the SFPUC Wastewater Enterprise.
