OLD & EXPIRED MEDICATIONS

The Household Hazardous Waste Facility can no longer accept old or expired medications, but there are other ways in which to properly dispose of them:

SFPUC Big Blue Bucket Eco-Fair:  Saturday, October 11, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Southeast Treatment Plant at 750 Phelps Street (enter at the corner of Phelps and Jerrold).

Costco accepts expired/unwanted medications from their customers. The San Francisco location is located at 10th Street & Harrison Street.

RAMP (Recycle AIDS Medicine Program) accepts AIDS-related medications and other medicines. RAMP has two drop-off locations in SF.  VISIT their website for more information.

If neither option is available, your local pharmacy, hospital or doctor's office may take medications back informally.

Please remember - DO NOT DISPOSE OF ANY OLD/EXPIRED MEDICATIONS TO THE SEWER.
