Mayor Gavin Newsom announced his choice of Francis “F.X.” Crowley for appointment to the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission. Crowley would fill the seat recently vacated by Ryan Brooks.
Mr. Crowley is the Business Manager/Secretary for the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts in San Francisco, representing 1,500 theatrical, stage, film and convention technicians in San Francisco, the North Bay and Peninsula. He is a member of the San Francisco Labor Council Executive Committee, a Trustee for the San Francisco Maritime Trades Council, a Member of the Hotel Council of San Francisco and the San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau, and sits on the Treasure Island Citizens Advisory Board.
“F.X. Crowley will bring a commitment to the environment and enhancing the quality of life for our residents that will be an invaluable asset to the Public Utilities Commission,” said Mayor Newsom. “His leadership experience working with disparate groups to bring about consensus will be a beneficial addition to the Commission.”
Crowley is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach, where he earned his BA in Radio/Television Broadcast.
