Starting today, coverage of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission meetings can be seen LIVE via streaming video on your computer. These events are not being cablecast on SFGTV because another LIVE program is already being covered.
To watch any of the Commission meetings, you will need at a minimum
- A PC or Mac with a sound card
- Speakers or headphones
- RealPlayer Version 8 or later (the latest version is recommended)
Real Player Basic is available for free via download from Real Networks. Other RealPlayers (such as RealPlayer Plus and RealPlayer GoldPass) will also allow you to view the videos, but they are not required; they offer additional features and must be purchased.
Go to the RealNetworks website, then scroll down the page to find the link to download Real Player Basic (the free player). You'll actually download an installer program, then run the installer which will install the player software.
We recommend that you use the latest version of RealPlayer, as it offers significantly superior streaming over the City's network, and it allows you to watch all three types of video provided.
The current version of RealPlayer is Version 8. You will need Version 8 or later to view all the video programming that SFGov offers. If you have not recently installed RealPlayer, you probably have RealPlayer 5.
