Pre-Qualification Status, as of November 26, 2008

The following construction teams have successfully satisfied the requirements of the RFQ and are hereby pre-qualified to submit a bid for the Calaveras Dam Replacement Project:

• Kiewit Pacific Co.
• Granite Construction
• Barnard Construction

All interested contractors should be aware that the Construction Bid Advertisement timeframe has been revised and is expected to be issued in the Winter of 2009/2010.  This revised schedule is necessary to accommodate previously unanticipated delays to the environmental review process required under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and to obtain the required environmental permits for the project.

Due to these recent changes in the construction schedule, the SFPUC will re-open the pre-qualification window for this project until the date of Construction Bid Advertisement.

Therefore, the list of pre-qualified contractors for this project will be updated as contractors meet the pre-qualification requirements.

Thank you to the more than 100 people who participated in the Pre-Qualification Workshop and Site Visit in Sunol on April 24, 2008.  In follow up to the workshop, a final list of workshop attendees, as well as their contact information, can be found below.  

For those who were not able to attend, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission is pre-qualifying prime contractors who are interested in bidding on the $232 million construction of the proposed new Calaveras Dam.  Interested prime contractors can find the Request for Qualifications, as well as a construction fact sheet, below.

Please note that the work performed for the Calaveras Dam Replacement Project is subject to a Project Labor Agreement (PLA). The contractor and its subcontractors are required to abide by the terms and conditions of the PLA.  Please find information about the PLA here.
