This White Paper summarizes information and current research issues on Cryptosporidium relevant to its public health significance in drinking water supplies. Chapter 1 describes the history, biology and epidemiology of Cryptosporidium. Chapter 2 describes drinking water regulation, detection, occurrence and disinfection techniques in regards to Cryptosporidium in the United States. The appendices describe testing for Cryptosporidium.
