The SFPUC is continuing a state mandated water main flushing program. The flushing operation, which could last from two to four hours, can cause reduced water pressure or discolored water.
If you experience discolored water, please locate the lowest and closest water source point to the front of the house. Remove the aerator if there is one and turn on the cold water faucet for about a minute. Do not use the hot water since the sediments may be pulled into the hot water tank. If the water is still discolored after running the cold water for about a minute, please turn off the faucet and repeat the process once an hour until the water runs clear. When the flushing operation is complete, the normal pressure and clear water should return. If the problem persists, please call 877-737-8297 during working hours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
We apologize for any inconvenience. Please check this website for regular updates.
