San Francisco's GoSolarSF Program was established to increase the number of solar installations within the city by providing incentive payments to residents, local businesses and non-profit organizations.
Incentives are awarded on a first-come-first-served basis until the incentive budget is exhausted. During fiscal year 2010-2011, the program is funded with $5 million from annual net operating revenues of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, the agency administering the program. $2 million of this funding is reserved for low-income residential applications.
The application package reflects a streamlined administration allowing us to incorporate CSI application information for projects applying for state rebates through the California Solar Initiative. The application also allows the party paying the electric bill to designate an incentive payee other than themselves, if desired.
