Chinatown Branch Library

The Power Enterprise completed two solar power projects on San Francisco neighborhood facilities in December 2007.  An 8 kilowatt (kW) system was installed on the roof of the Chinatown Branch Library, located at 1135 Powell Street (near Jackson).  The Chinatown Library is the busiest branch in the San Francisco Library system. The solar system will be producing power for the library this summer.

Maxine Hall Neighborhood Health Center
Also completed is the 30 kW system for the Maxine Hall Neighborhood Health Center in the Western Addition. Located at 1301 Pierce Street (at Ellis), the Maxine Hall Health Center is named for community activist Maxine Hall, who worked to reduce gun violence in the Western Addition and tragically was shot and killed on her way to a community meeting. The solar system will be producing power for the health center this summer.
