Errata Sheet for SFPUC 2005 Urban Water Management Plan
Published: 10/10/2006  |  Updated: 10/10/2006
Published By: Water Resources Planning

From 2000 to 2004 groundwater was pumped from one well at the San Francisco Zoo and two wells in Golden Gate Park. The average daily pumping is estimated at approximately 2.5 mgd an annual basis (equivalent to an annual groundwater production of 2800 acre-feet per year [AFY]). The 2800 AFY of pumping is below the average annual calculated recharge of 4846 AFY (USGS 1993, Water Resources Investigation 93-4019). Moreover, this 4846 AFY estimate is low because it does not consider past, current and planned SFPUC supplemental water additions to Lake Merced.
