Resources Provided:
The resources provided here can be used by dental offices in San Francisco to properly train their staff on how to comply with the requirements of the wastewater discharge permit issued to their offices by the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission. The files listed below can be printed and/or downloaded to create a training binder.
Information on the requirements specific to the dental wastewater discharge permit are addressed in the documents listed below under Tab #1 and Tab #4. The other materials provided here address topics which are not regulated under the waste water discharge permit. These materials are relevant and related in that they address proper management and disposal of wastes other than amalgam wastes - such as hazardous wastes and medical wastes (which are regulated by the Department of Public Health, HMUPA program).
How to Use These Resources:
The documents provided here were presented to dental practitioners and their staff in workshops held in San Francisco in April 2004. They are best utilized by printing out all of the materials in the order listed in the Table of Contents document, and then compiling the information into a training binder. Individual documents, however, can be used independently as well.
Note that requirements specific to the dental waste water discharge permit are addressed in the documents listed under Tab #1 and Tab #4.
