Solar resource is measured in kilo-watt hours per square meter. One kilo-watt hour equals the energy consumed by ten 100-watt light bulbs
in one hour. This map shows the location of each of the monitoring stations.
The corresponding table shows the average annual solar
resource at each site. To get the average monthly solar resource click on the station name in the table.

| The monthly and annual data is an average of all the years that data has been collected for each station.
Some of the stations have been in place since 2001, however others were placed in service more recently.
For example, if the station has data back until 2001, the monthly data for January is an average of the solar resource
measured in January for the years 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, & 2007.
For more information regarding the length of a particular station's data set, please contact the SFPUC.
