The USA EPA has developed a GHG equivalencies calculator to help translate these abstract measurements (pounds and metric tons of CO2) into more concrete examples.
Once you've estimated your emissions using SFPUC's calculator, you can visit the EPA's website, click the tab for "If You Have Emission Data",
and enter your CO2 emissions on the appropriate line. Here is a link to the EPA site.
