Channel Pump Station

Project Update: Notice to Proceed was issued to NTK Construction, Inc. on July 14, 2011.

Project Description: Channel Pump Station, San Francisco’s largest sewage pumping station, has been in near-constant operation since it was brought on line in 1979. A new round of upgrades commenced at the facility in July 2011, including corrosion and concrete surface repairs as well as upgrades to odor control, electrical, controls and instrumentation systems. The project, which builds upon previous improvements to the pump station, is scheduled to conclude in December 2012.

Additional flow measurement instrumentation will be added to this chemical treatment system. This emergency generator will be replaced.

Corroded material in main discharge piping elbow. Segments of this piping will be replaced where possible. Exterior corrosion of dewatering pump and piping. This assembly will be completely replaced.
