This is a courtesy notice regarding a contracting opportunity and site tour for the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission’s HH-998(E) Emergency Repairs to Hetch Hetchy Water and Power Facilities Following the March 2018 Storm – Phase 2.
The objective of the project is to replace a culvert downstream of the Priest Dam, repair abutments and toe of the Moccasin Diversion Dam, install debris barriers, repair storm drains and culverts, repair the Moccasin Dam Auxiliary Spillway, install an extension to the core wall of Moccasin Dam, and install a berm downstream of the Moccasin Dam.
Bid discounts may be applied as per San Francisco Administrative Code Chapter 14B. The LBE Subcontracting Participation Requirement is 8.00%. Both San Francisco Small & Micro-LBEs and SFPUC LBEs (Firms certified by SF Contract Monitoring Division) can be utilized to meet this requirement. The emergency nature of the work to repair the facilities before the wet weather season, which starts in October. The project scope of work limits LBE participation because the prime and subcontractors need to have local knowledge and experience working on similar types of facilities, which includes working in creek and reservoir beds, deep excavations, and installing specially manufactured items, to meet the timeframe and expected quality of work. Furthermore, this project is in Moccasin, which further diminishes the availability of LBE subcontractors. Please contact Jason Chow at 415-554-3103 for further information.
