Project Description

The objective of the project is to replace and refurbish aging mechanical, electrical and I&C systems of the entire pump station.  The work is to be performed in SF, CA.

Bid discounts may be applied as per San Francisco Administrative Code Chapter 14B.  The LBE Subcontracting Participation Requirement is 8% and ONLY San Francisco (Local) Small & Micro-LBEs can be utilized to meet this requirement (Firms certified by SF Contract Monitoring Division).  SFPUC-LBEs cannot be utilized to meet the 8% LBE Subcontracting Participation Requirement. The contract will involve both a high degree of specialty work and large equipment purchases.  Specialty work includes: automation and controls work that requires an experienced system integrator; specialty electrical systems work that will be integrated into the automation to a degree never before attempted in a City project; design/build services for the cranes and the new manifold system, along with the associated structural/seismic supports. Hard copy versions of plans, specifications and bidding documents are available at 525 Golden Gate Avenue, 1st Floor, Customer Service Desk, SF, CA 94102 for a non-refundable $190 fee paid by cash or by check payable to “SFPUC.”  The CD must be purchased with the plans and specs for it contains essential reference documents.  Call (415) 551-4603 for further information.  Please be advised that prior to receiving these materials, all purchasers will be required to complete, sign and fully comply with a Confidentiality Agreement.

A contractor, who is requesting plans & specs by mail should send a request with the original, signed Confidentiality Agreement, appropriate payment amount, FedEx #, business card, contractor license # and return shipping information to: Contract Administration Bureau at 525 Golden Gate Avenue, 8th floor, San Francisco, CA 94102. 

Addendum No 1 was issued May 19, 2017.

Addendum No 2 was issued May 25, 2017.

Addendum No 3 was issued May 26, 2017.

Addendum No 4 was issued June 6, 2017.

 

A second site visit is being offered for potential bidders on Monday, June 12, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at Griffith Pump Station located at 1601 Griffith Street.  Interested parties are advised to have hard-hats, steel-toed boots, and safety vests if they intend to visit all the areas in the pump station.  This is not a tour, but SFPUC staff will escort and provide access to specific locations requested by attendees. 

 

Please note that all visitors are required to provide a copy of the signed confidentiality agreement before they are allowed on site, or sign the agreement on 6/12/17.
