In 2013, the SFPUC launched the Sidewalk Garden Project, a project designed to educate private property owners about the our combined sewer system and to work with local residents to remove impervious concrete and create sidewalk gardens that allow the rain to soak in, benefiting our sewer system, the environment, and our community.
The SFPUC anticipates selecting up to two (2) Proposers, each with a term of up to 1.5 years (18 months), and with a combined not-to-exceed grant value of $225,000 (inclusive of all reimbursable costs) to qualified non-profit community based organizations (CBO) to manage the Sidewalk Garden Project.
