Project Description

The objective of the project is to seismically retrofit the roof and supporting structures of the Sutro Reservoir, upgrade the foundation, install a drainage system on the reservoir embankment, improve the reservoir under drain, spall and crack repair of the roof structure, remove existing asphaltic lining, install concrete lining, install new ventilations on the side walls, upgrade the outlet system, and install waterproofing on the roof. The work is to be performed at Sutro Reservoir, located on Clarendon Ave. in SF, CA

This contract requires bidder pre-qualification by the SFPUC. Only contractors who have successfully completed the pre-qualification process for the category of work titled: “Local Water - Water Reservoirs”, as posted at http://sfwater.org/pre-qualify, will be allowed to submit bids for this contract.                                           

There will be no bid discounts for this contract. The LBE subcontracting goal is 12% and ONLY San Francisco (Local) Small & Micro-LBEs can be utilized to meet this requirement (Firms certified by SF Human Rights Commission).  SFPUC-LBEs cannot be utilized to meet the 12% LBE subcontracting goal requirement.   Please contact Mindy Lee at 415-554-3136 for HRC related issues.

Pre-bid meeting location has been changed from 1145 Market Street, 1st Floor to 1155 Market Street, 6th floor.

A site inspection will be held at the Sutro Reservoir on Clarendon Avenue near Olympia Way on May 3 at 1:30PM. Attendees must bring their own hard hats & water-resistant boots if they wish to participate in the optional boat tour of the Reservoir.

Hard copy versions of plans, specifications and bidding documents are available at 1155 Market St., 1st Floor, Contract Admin Service Desk, San Francisco, CA 94103 for a non-refundable $300fee paid by cash or by check payable to “SFPUC” Contractors requesting plans/specs be shipped to them should send their request with the signed Confidentiality Agreement, the appropriate payment amount and return shipping information to: Contract Administration Bureau at 1155 Market Street, 9th floor, San Francisco, CA 94103
