Project Description
The Tesla Treatment Facility Project combines the construction of a new ultraviolet (UV) water treatment facility with a new chemical water treatment building, an operations building, tanks and other support structures.
With a capacity of 315 million gallons per day (mgd), the new UV water treatment facility will be the third largest in the United States.
The new chemical storage and water treatment facilities will replace the existing 75 year–old structures, which do not meet current earthquake standards.

  • What’s a rattlesnake without its rattle?

Rattlesnakes require constant vigilance. At the construction site for the new Tesla Treatment Facility, five rattlesnakes have been found and relocated from the site. A herpetologist properly removes the snakes using a snake scoop and specialized tongs. The snakes are carefully relocated to an area just outside of the construction site. Gopher snakes have also been found on site and relocated.
