Project Update

The new Mt Davidson Tank & Pipeline is nearly complete. Full completion is expected in spring 2010.

The Mount Davidson Water Storage Tank will undergo a seismic retrofit.  This project will address all work at the Mt. Davidson tank site.  Work will include: seismic retrofit of existing 75,000 gallon tank, stabilization of hillside, new dedicated inlet/outlet piping work; new isolation valves and vaults; addition of retaining walls; security fencing and monitoring system, new access ladders and safety platforms on the tank.  Access road and site improvements including erosion control, landscaping and drainage, water quality improvements (sampling, disinfection); and a cathodic protection and monitoring system. A new 8 inch ductile iron pipeline will be installed.

Another improvement to the Hetch Hetchy water system was marked Saturday after the completion of three crucial projects and the re-dedication of the Mt. Davidson plaque during a ceremony at the park.
