Come to an Open House to learn more about the San Andreas Pipeline No. 3 Installation Project, and then stay for the San Francisco Planning Department Public Scoping Meeting. We invite you to comment on the scope of the environmental review for the San Andreas Pipeline No. 3 Installation Project.
The Open House and Scoping Meeting will take place on Thursday February 21, 2008 at the Larcombe Clubhouse in Westlake Park, Daly City.
This project will provide for replacing the Baden-Merced pipeline which is currently beyond repair, by constructing approximately 4 miles of 36-inch diameter steel pipe to extend the San Andreas pipeline No. 3 (SAPL No. 3) from San Pedro valve lot on the Peninsula to Merced Manor Reservoir in San Francisco. It will then be connected to SAPL No. 2 at Sloat Boulevard. This will improve seismic reliability by providing a backup water supply to customers along the northern Peninsula and in San Francisco in the event of an earthquake or other damage to water supplies. It will also improve water delivery reliability by allowing the ability to perform planned maintenance on SAPL2.

Construction will include:
- Closure of some roadways for limited time periods.
- Night work along major transit routes to avoid traffic congestion.
- Temporary or alternate access and parking areas created throughout the project alignment.
- Construction work will be restricted during peak business hours in commercial areas.
- Water quality and service will be maintained.
