Mayor Newsom also issued a new City and County of San Francisco Executive Directive aimed at reducing water consumption by city government and requiring more water-efficient irrigation, street cleaning and other services.     Read more 



In 2007, SFPUC water met or exceeded federal and state standards for drinking water, as in years past.  The annual 2007 Water Quality Report is now available. Mandated by the State of California, the publication contains important information about your drinking water for the past year and the ongoing measures our staff people take to ensure its continued excellence.     Read more 


The City and County of San Francisco, through the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, is initiating a pilot program to provide a financial incentive for San Francisco residents and businesses to install solar (photovoltaic) energy systems on their properties.    Read more 


This Water System Improvement Program Quarterly Report provides a detailed update on the current status of the projects in each of our WSIP regions: San Joaquin, Bay Division, Sunol Valley, the Peninsula, San Francisco-Regional System-Wide, Water Supply and San Francisco-Local.  The report also identifies critical issues that SFPUC staff and management are addressing to keep the program on budget and on schedule.  Future Quarterly Reports will continue to measure progress against the November 2005 program and the most recent quarterly updates.

Significant changes were made to the format and content of the report.  These changes are intended to improve readability and provide more representative performance data.  The new report format allows for a quick review of program highlights and performance at the program, regional and project levels.    Read more
