The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) today announced a new “pre-qualification” program that, will require prospective bidders on select SFPUC capital projects to demonstrate adequate levels of experience, skill, financial position and other criteria before submitting bids or proposals for SFPUC capital construction work. The new Pre-Qualification Program – the first of its kind for a San Francisco public agency – aims to attract the nation’s most qualified contractors to SFPUC projects while ensuring that bidders can meet all city requirements.     Read more 

WSIP Quarterly Update (June 2006) This Water System Improvement Program Quarterly Report provides a detailed update on the current status of the projects in each of our WSIP regions:  San Joaquin, Bay Division, Sunol Valley, the Peninsula, San Francisco-Regional and San Francisco-Local.  The report also identifies critical issues that SFPUC staff and management are addressing to keep the program on budget and on schedule.  Future Quarterly Reports will continue to measure progress against the November 2005 program and the most recent quarterly update.    Read more

BDPL Nos. 3&4 Crossover/Isolation Valves at the Hayward Fault- Construction Update #1 Construction is underway to install crossover and isolation valves on two of the system's largest and most vulnerable water transmission pipelines where they cross the Hayward Fault in Fremont.  Attached is the first quarterly construction update.     Read more
